  • Mrs. Adetoun DosunmuPresident

    FBNQuest Merchant Bank Ltd

    Adetoun has over 19 years’ work experience with a focus on various treasury functions including Fixed Income Securities, Assets & Liability Management, Foreign Currency Trading and Derivatives.

    She joined FBN Capital in 2013 as Head, Fixed Income / Treasury and successfully set up the fixed income trading desk as a major income generating unit of the Markets Division with over $737.5m profitably executed trades within the first eight months of operations

    Prior to FBN Capital, she worked at UBA as Head of Fixed income Treasury where she was responsible for ensuring the bank meets its Primary Dealer Market Maker (PDMM) and Money market Dealer (MMD) roles in both the bonds and treasury bills trading respectively

    Adetoun holds a B.Sc. Economics from University of Ibadan and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. She has attended many courses including Euromoney, ICAP, Securities Trading Simulation and is also an alumnus  of Wharton Business School.

  • Ayokunle OjoVice President

    CItibank Nig. Ltd

    Ayokunle Ojo is a Director and Corporate Sales Head for Citibank Nigeria. He has over 14 years experience in Citibank and was appointed into his current role in January 2013. Ayokunle is responsible for the Markets team that is innovating and creating solutions that add value to corporate clients. This involves selling foreign exchange, fixed income and structured solutions to corporate clients in Nigeria.

    Prior to his appointment, he worked as a Salesperson selling an array of products to corporate and institutional clients. He has been responsible for landmark structured solution deals in Citibank Nigeria. Before his sales and structuring career, he worked as a Risk Treasury Dealer and was part of the Citi Management Associate Program.

    Ayokunle is a CFA Charterholder. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He enjoys photography and spends considerable time teaching young adults in Lagos with a focus on Investment and Financial Analysis.

    Mrs. Mary Gbegbaje is the Acting Executive Secretary.

    Mary started her working career in 1989 upon graduation from the University of Benin where she studied English & Literature (Education). Once done with the National Youth Service Corps scheme at the then Allied Bank Nigeria Plc where she worked as a customer care officer; she secured a job as marketing officer in the pioneer Nigerian credit card Company Cash-Data Services Ltd, Ikoyi, Lagos.

    Mary’s client service, customer care and relationship management experiences span various sectors of the economy including brand management, communications, non-banking financial institutions and not for profit organizations.

    She is an amiable facilitator and mentor who has over the years attended a number local and international training workshops in diverse activities. Furthermore, Mary passionately volunteers her time with the avowed commitment to developing small business initiatives for young women and campaign for compulsory primary education for the Nigerian child towards skill acquisition and the alleviation of poverty.

  • Promise ChuksnwabuisiMember

    United Bank for Africa Plc

    Promise Chuksnwabuisi is the Head of Treasury Operations at the United Bank for Africa (UBA) PLC with over 20 years in the banking industry. He oversees foreign currency settlement operations and supervises TROPS local currency and foreign currencies for both fund transfers and securities among others.

    He started his banking career with the Standard Trust Bank PLC in 2000 and later joined UBA in 2005 as Assistant Manager Treasury Operations. He has successfully managed the Treasury Operations of UBA liaising with the various regulatory bodies.

    He has been the lead facilitator for trainings in Treasury operations across the African and UK subsidiaries of his bank. He had at one time or the other been seconded to some of the UBA subsidiaries in African countries and the USA. He had also acted in the capacity of Project Member and Manager across African countries in the implementation of Finacle 10X Core Banking Application, Finacle Treasury 10X Application, UBA SWIFT Corporate Processing Solutions amongst others.

    He studied Business Administration at the University of Lagos, graduating at the top of his class and has MBA in the same institution. He is a professional member of numerous institutions including FMDA, NIM, ACI, PMI and has attended many local and international trainings. He is the current Chairman, Treasury Support Workgroup of FMDA.


  • Ayodeji AbimbolaMember

    Nova Merchant Bank Ltd

    Ayodeji Abimbola is the Group Treasurer at Nova Merchant Bank Limited. Prior to this role, he was the Chief Dealer at the United Bank for Africa Plc where he was responsible for proprietary trading in fixed income instruments and foreign exchange, driving trading strategy, monitoring limits and positions in addition to managing relationships with regulators and counterparties. During his time at UBA, he repositioned the fixed income proprietary desk on the path of profitability and market leadership and is widely respected for his trading skills, market knowledge and professionalism.

    Mr. Abimbola possesses significant expertise in treasury with over 16 years’ experience and has held several senior roles in this area in the banking industry including the Chief Dealer at Ecobank Nigeria and Head Foreign Currency Trading at Fidelity Bank Plc. He has experience in Asset & Liability Management, Treasury Operations and settlements.

    Mr. Abimbola possesses a B.Sc. in Banking and Finance from the University of Ado-Ekiti. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a member of the ACI Financial Markets Association. He has undertaken various courses on fixed income and portfolio management, foreign exchange and derivatives including structured products from reputable institutions like the New York Institute of Finance and Euromoney. He is the current Chairman, Money Market Workgroup of FMDA.

  • Mr. Samuel OchehoEx-Officio

    Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc

    Mr. Ocheho is the immediate past President of the Financial Markets Dealers Association (FMDA) and Head of Stanbic IBTC Global Markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Jos, Plateau State of Nigeria with an Executive MBA at INSEAD.

    He joined Stanbic IBTC Bank (A Subsidiary of Standard Bank Group) as the Regional Head of Trading for West Africa overseeing both the Nigeria and Ghana trading desks. He was appointed as the Head of Global Markets in March 2014.

    He has over 19 years of strong trading experience spanning Money market, Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, ALM and a brief stint in commercial banking. Sam has been actively involved in the development of the Nigerian Financial market via his membership with the Financial Markets Dealers Association.

    Prior to joining StanbicIBTC in 2005, he had served as the Chief Dealer in Bond Bank (now Skye Bank), First City Monument Bank and Kakawa Discount House Limited.

    Apart from his interest in the Nigerian Financial Markets, he is actively involved in sports and has served in the following capacities:

    • Chairman and now Patron Lagos State Handball Association
    • Member of the Board of the Handball Federation of Nigeria.
    • President, Handball Federation of Nigeria.

    Highlighting his love for sports, Sam has been sponsoring a biennial handball championship which started in 2012.

    Samuel Ocheho has and is still involved as a facilitator for various organizations on financial market issues.

  • Mr. Ini EbongEx-Officio

    First Bank of Nigeria Plc

    Ini Ebong is the Group Executive, Treasury and Financial Institutions, First Bank of Nigeria Limited. Prior to this appointment in January 2016, he was the Bank’s treasurer, a position he occupied since 2011. Before joining FirstBank he was the Head of African Fixed Income and Local Markets Trading, Renaissance Securities Nigeria Limited, the Nigerian registered subsidiary of Renaissance Capital.

    Ini worked in Citigroup for 14 years, having joined the Treasury Group – Sales and Trading and rotated through a wide variety of trading roles across most Treasury products, Asset and Liability management, Treasury sales and marketing, Treasury risk management, until he became Country Treasurer and Sales and Trading Business Head, in June 2003. In his career in financial services, Ini specialized in the Sales and Trading function and has extensive work experience that covers not just trading, but also Treasury and Balance Sheet Management. He has a passion for market development and has worked actively to drive change and internationalization of the Nigerian financial markets: foreign exchange, fixed income and securities.

    Ini has worked closely with regulatory bodies such as the CBN and DMO in assisting with the development of fresh monetary and foreign exchange policies, to broaden and deepen markets and open them up to international practices. At various times he has facilitated and delivered courses and seminars on a wide variety of subjects covering Money Markets, Securities and Foreign exchange trading and market risk management subjects to regulators, corporate customers, banks and market participants. Ini holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Architecture from University of Ife.

    At various times, he served as a resource person for the Money Market Association of Nigeria (MMAN) now Financial Markets Dealers Association and also on the Market Development, Process, Documentation and Foreign Exchange Committees. He was the Vice President of the Association from 2006 to 2008 and currently serves as a member of the Governing Council of the Association.

    Mr. Ebong has a passion for market development and has worked actively to drive change and internationalization of the Nigerian financial markets: Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income and Securities. In addition he played an extensive role in the development of the Bond market in Nigeria, acting as a resource person in various fora, working with World Bank/IFC Technical Teams, CBN and DMO on Bond Market Developments.

  • Mr. Adebayo AdeyemoEx-Officio

    Mr. Adeyemo is the Country Treasurer & Markets Head, Citibank Nigeria Limited. He is also the Chairman Automation Committee of the FMDA and serves as a member of the SEC Capital Market Committee (Sub-Committee on Exchanges). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
